Inspired by chr omotherapy and by the color of the Grands Teints of tinctorial plants, the creator, Elisa Ritter, proceeds in an artisanal way with plants from her wild harvest, her garden, producers and food waste in collaboration with restaurateurs close to the workshop. The natural dye having nothing to do with the chemical dye, it brings on the vibratory level a strong energy potential which will offer to its host feelings which are specific to him.

With Alnàua, we ban all chemical and toxic processes to make way for natural and ecological dyes that have no impact on the environment and your well-being. The 100% natural ready-to-wear fabrics are organic, mottled, or recycled, handcrafted by a network of seamstresses 10km from the workshop, and hand-dyed by Elisa in France.

COLORFUL AND LARGE-COLORED PLANTS

Garance, Gaude, Indigo are the best known and are considered to be the great tints of vegetable dyeing. Avocado, Onion, Rose, Nettle, Walnut etc ... hundreds of possibilities can be offered through the colors that nature offers us.

Natural dyeing is carried out in different stages :

  • Pick or prepare the plant upstream if necessary.

  • Pre-wash phase, which requires time to prepare the fabric for mordanting and dyeing.

  • Etching, an essential step so that the fabric can be properly impregnated with the color of the dye bath and can last over time, often made from minerals or plants.

  • The dye bath, made from infusion, decoction, maceration and fermentation of plants, roots, bark, flowers etc ... to be carried out over several days or even weeks.

  • Dyeing, a delicate step requiring specific conditions depending on each type of textile and plant material used.

  • Washing then drying and a final wash, which must be carried out gently so that the fabric is correctly impregnated with the color given to it.

A long process based on traditional craftsmanship and know-how in order to offer pieces with a unique character, respectful of your body and of nature.
